30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Raid the pantry and come create art out of food! In this 35 min class learners will use their imagination and dry foods to make a self portrait. We will begin with introductions and getting to know each other by talking about what materials we brought and why. Then we will lay out our portrait before gluing it all down. Along the way we can change out materials to find the combination we like the best. The options are endless! We'll have discussions about how our face changes with our feelings and reading nonverbal facial cues. Come celebrate our differences while making art! Scissors may be used. Parental guidance is encouraged if your learner needs to cut something.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I'm Kara! As a former 1st Grade teacher, preschool teacher, and current stay at home mom to 3 (ages 12, 9, and 5) I know there is nothing more important than learning through play. In my classes we'll have fun, be challenged, and learn from each other. I have also taught over 1,000 English classes online and am very comfortable with the online teaching dynamic. I have a heart for young learners and sparking imagination. When I'm not teaching I love to cook, read, run, and travel. I can't wait to see you in my "classroom"!
