Class Experience
Edible packaging: 1 3/4 cups (400ml) Cold water 3 1/4 tsp (10g) Gelatin (powdered) 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) Glycerin 1 Medium sauce pan or pot 25 x 10cm / 4 inch flat lids OR a nonstick baking sheet Microwave caramels: 8x8 inch baking dish Large, microwave safe bowl 1/2 cup (113g) unsalted butter, cut into 4 pieces 1/2 cup (120ml) light corn syrup 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar 1/2 cup (100g) packed light-brown sugar 1/2 cup (120ml) sweetened condensed milk 1/8 tsp salt 3/4 tsp vanilla extract Sea salt (optional)
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
In both classes, learners will be required to heat a liquid to boiling. Caution should be taken, and supervision is suggested.
