Fondant for Beginners: Christmas Decorations
In this one time, 1.5 hour class, students will learn to make Christmas decorations out of fondant that can be used for cakes and cupcakes.

Students are encouraged to practice what we learned in class and continue to experiment with new creations with fondant.Class Experience
In this one time, 2 hour class, students will learn to make Christmas decorations out of fondant that can be used for cakes and cupcakes. We will learn how to use food coloring to change the color of fondant, roll it out, and form several Christmas decorations. We'll make Christmas trees, snow men, flowers, holly, ginger bread men, candy canes and more. I will tell the students what I am doing at every step at the process and have them follow with me. They may ask questions at any point if they need help. This is a very Hands-On and relaxed class. Students may use a knife to cut fondant if parent chooses and monitors for safety.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to color fondant and roll it out. They will learn to create Christmas-themed decorations to use on cakes and cupcakes.

White fondant and food coloring or colored fondant of your choice Toothpicks Small amount of powdered sugar Parchment paper for work surface Fondant roller or any rolling pin Food safe markers (optional, but the kids love it) Flower fondant cutter or cookie cutters Gingerbread man cookie cutter Circle cookie cutter (or they can use the back side of an icing tip to cut circles) Sprinkles of your choice Knife for cutting fondant (optional)
