Description
Class Experience
-Students will gain experience making predictions, and then conducting a quick experiment to verify or disprove their prediction. -Students will gain practice with public speaking as they state their prediction for the farthest flying airplane in front of their peers. -Students will learn how to fold three types of planes.
During my time working in Montessori schools I was given the opportunity to design and implement a summer camp program that integrated scientific and cultural exploration with hands-on projects. One of our camp sessions was a STEM camp that covered the basic laws of physics (Newton's laws of motion) and then provided campers with an experiential opportunity to apply what they had learned. It was a joy to teach and assist my students as they conquered these previously uncharted territories and I am only too happy to replicate that adventure here on Outschool.
Paper and a measuring tape, yard stick or ruler. Anything to help measure how far their plane has flown.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
