In this class, students will learn the difference between a binomial and trinomial, how to use the FOIL Method to find the product of two binomials, and how to use the distributive property to multiply a binomial by a trinomial. The class structure is an open discussion which means that students will be able to talk about the solutions with the instructor as well as other students. Students will also take turns solving problems on the whiteboard. To be successful in this class, students should know how to multiply, add, and subtract positive and negative numbers.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to multiply numbers and variables, combine like terms, and how to identify general patterns of binomial multiplication.
