This is a class for learners who want to practice sounding out CVC words- those are words that follow the consonant vowel consonant word pattern such as cat, mop, and hen. We will start by reviewing the letters and their sounds. Then, we will do some interactive word work activities that will give learners the opportunity to practice reading and writing words. Then, we will read a simple text together using some of the words that we have practiced. Phonics is my favorite subject to teach, so I am so excited to help give your learner some new tools to help them be the best reader they can be!
Learning Goals
Learners will sound out, blend, and write words that follow the consonant vowel consonant word pattern in order to build reading fluency. Students will be introduced to sound boxes to aide in sounding out words.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am Mrs. Love. I was a public school teacher for 7 years and now I'm excited to now be teaching online through Outschool! I have always loved reading so I became a teacher to extend that same love of reading to others. I love teaching phonics because that is how a reader starts their reading journey and I like to start it out with fun! When I'm not teaching, I am playing with or pampering my two dogs, Oriole and Raven!
