✈️Join us for an exciting multi-day class where aspiring aviators will learn all about airplanes and aviation There will be some hands on activities, lively discussions, and interesting scientific facts. ✈️ The schedule will be as follows: Day 1: ✈️ This will be an introduction to Aviation and some basic information about different types of aircraft, aviation words, and the major parts of an airplane. Day 2: ✈️ Students learn how airplanes fly, we will discuss aerodynamics and the 4 forces that affect flight. We will put this theory to the test by making our own paper airplanes and testing out the design features. Day 3: ✈️ We will get to play pilot by learning all about how pilots communicate with Air Traffic Control on the radio. They will learn the NATO phonetic alphabet and practice using it to call Air Traffic Control. Day 4: ✈️ Will emphasize the effect that weather has on flying. Students will learn all about the different types of weather that pilots may encounter, how it affects the flight and what instruments help the pilot stay in the air despite the weather challenges. Day 5: ✈️ Will be an aviation social hour. We will talk about our favorite airplanes, exchange facts and stories about airplanes and debate what plane is the coolest. 🌟BONUS: 🌟 Students will receive digital resources such as our airplane labeling activity and some aerodynamics slides to refer back to for furthering their aviation knowledge. 🌟PLEASE NOTE: Students will need to be able to read in order to complete all activities and participate fully. I can't wait to meet all of the future aviators! See you soon, Capt. A

🤩Welcome to the Joy Factory! 🤩
I believe that all students learn best when they are enjoying themselves in the process, that’s why I call my “classroom” the joy factory, because I aim to create joyful learning experiences for all students.
I have found, through my 10 + years of teaching, that any of the core academic skills taught in school (reading, writing, math) can be taught with greater success (and joy) through topics of interest to the student. It can be even more joyful when the teacher is passionate about the subject. This is why I am so excited to be offering classes about aviation, science, and nature - all things that I have loved since childhood, as well as the traditional reading and writing classes but with a fun approach.
So, if your child loves any of these things too, take a peek at my classes and come join us for a joyful learning experience. I can't wait to meet you!
