This class will look at the biology of the Mako Shark, including the streamlined design and features that make this shark the fastest in the ocean. Hunting and jumping abilities will also be discussed, as well as fishing and tagging techniques. The class will be a combination of physical displays such as jaws, teeth, and tagging equipment, a PowerPoint about the specifics of the two Mako species, and personal accounts of the interactions that I have had fishing and tagging Makos for over 33...
By the end of this class, students will be able to identify basic structures of the Mako Shark and also be able to state specifics as to what sets the Mako Shark apart from other shark species.
