Fly Me to the Moon - Illustrating Outer Space With Procreate

*PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS REQUIRES FILE DOWNLOAD : A brush download has been supplied for this class. You will find the link as you enter the Outschool “Classroom”, near the bottom of the page. Please download the link FROM THE IPAD or IPhone, being used for the class, so when you click the link, it loads to the “Files” application. From there click “recents”, and then click the Bonobo_Chalk file, which will then install the brush into Procreate.

This class teaches students how to use Procreate to draw a rocket and moon, using expressive color and texture, while also working with negative and positive value. After quick introductions by all, we will open Procreate and become oriented with the basic layout/functionality of the software. The remainder of the class consists of Mr. Niven walking learners, step-by-step, through the process of illustrating both the rocket and moon. This is done while Mr. Niven shares his iPad screen, so all students can watch his process, and see him teaching live through Zoom. Mr. Niven’s teaching style is fun and relaxed, yet motivating, which allows the students to feel comfortable, and confident. Bryan builds on principles, techniques and processes, using real-world examples, and motivates his students to use the knowledge gained in class, to create on their own.
