Description
Class Experience
In this class, learners will work on expanding their flute tone. We will talk about tone colors and work on different exercises to help make our tone more versatile. We will warm up together (learners on mute), explore different tone exercises (harmonics, longtones, intonation studies), and look at different literature examples that use different tone colors (Chaminade, Hindemith, Bach, Mozart). Students will just need their flutes and a willingness to try different things. A general...
Learners will work on tone production, colors, manipulation and vibrato and hear examples of different tone colors in literature.
Different tuner apps will be discussed; the app will depend on the learner's home technology.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will reference Trevor Wye's practice books.
