InformalClass Experience
This class is a five day class for beginners on the flute. It covers the first section of the Flute 101 course which has six sections. Day 1 - we cover p. 5 and 6 - Fun with the head joint. Students will play the head joint with different rhythms and learn how to play high and low sounds Day 2 - Lesson 1 - p. 7. Students will review Day 1 material and learn B, A, G on the flute - they will play various exercises and pieces. Day 3 - Lesson 2 - p. 9. Students will review Day 1 and 2 material and learn C. They will play exercises and pieces using all notes studied this far. Day 4 - Lesson 4 - Students will review Day 1, 2 and 3 material and learn 2nd octave B, A, G. They will learn how to play octaves for songs and exercises. Day 5 - Review all material learned in the other four days and participate in an optional recital.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to play on the head joint, put the flute together, play pieces using B, A, G and C. They will also begin to learn how to play notes in the higher octave.
