InformalClass Experience
This section is Part VI of the Flute 101 series. Students should be familiar with the following scales: C Major, F Major, B-flat Major, E-flat Major, A-flat Major, G Major, D Major, A Major and E Major plus a two octave chromatic scale. They should also know their arpeggios for these scales. Students will review the whole book. They should have been playing flute for approximately 6 months to a year before joining this class especially if they have not gone through the other parts of the book. Week 1 - Lesson 24 - First Octave C and C sharp; low notes C and C-sharp; chromatic scale; C major in octaves and one octave scale in C Major; two pieces using C and C-sharp. Week 2 - Lesson 25 - Third Octave F-sharp and G; exercises using low, middle and high F-sharp and G; chromatic scale; G Major scale in octaves and one octave G major scale; pieces using high F-sharp and G Week 3- Lesson 26 - Scale reviews; articulation patterns; review scales in C Major, F Major, B-flat and A-flat major. Week 4 - Lesson 27 - Scales in Thirds - Arpeggios using various articulations and played in C Major, F Major, B-flat Major, E-flat Major, A-flat Major. G Major, D Major, A Major and E Major. Week 5 - Arpeggios in various keys and articulations; review of selected pieces used in the book. A final review of the whole book.
Learning Goals
Students will conclude their study of Flute 101 by reviewing the whole book and will consolidate their knowledge of C Major, four major flat scale and four major sharp scales and arpeggios.
