Class Experience

Flower crowns are super fun and whimsical! They work great as part of a costume or even as a cute accessory for an everyday outfit if you're looking to do something a little different. The best part is, they're super easy to make, and you can use whatever colors, sizes, and types of flowers you want to make your crown truly unique!

In this class, we'll go through the process of making a flower crown together. I'll show the students how to measure their crown and attach the flowers, and we'll go through the steps slowly so that everyone can follow along and ask questions if they need assistance.

Once everyone is comfortable with the process of attaching their flowers, we'll discuss a bit of color theory and how to apply it when decorating with flowers as we finish assembling our crowns. We'll also talk about some ideas for how we'd want to decorate crowns the next time we make them.

See you in class!

Supply List
To make your crown, you will need:
-Floral wire
-Floral tape
-Flowers (I recommend faux/silk flowers because they last much longer, but real flowers work too! Either way, you'll need about 30 flowers, depending on how big they are. You can get usually get faux flowers from your local craft store or the dollar store.)
-Scissors
-Pliers (needle nose pliers work best for this craft)

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I'm Ms. Lindsay. I teach classes on a variety of topics, including video games, anime, baking, crafts, and more! These are my personal interests and hobbies that I spend a ton of time learning about myself, and I'm excited that I have the opportunity to share my love of these topics with others.

In 2017, I graduated from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and my focuses were art and business. I have experience working with young children through leading storytime/arts & crafts at my local library, as well as tutoring students in English and Reading. I have also worked with foreign students who speak different languages to strengthen their pronunciation and conversational skills.

When it comes to my teaching style, I believe it’s important to have fun in class, and focus on students' interests to keep them engaged in their education. I also work hard to foster a positive and uplifting classroom environment, to boost confidence and encourage students to be proud of who they are! Ultimately, students should look forward to having class, instead of feeling like it's boring or something that they're required to do.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of those awesome learners out there. See you in class!
