Hello! In this art class, we will explore the beauty of the natural world through painting different flowers in acrylic paint. Each week features a different flower. Class will meet twice a week for an hour each class to give learners plenty of time to add more fine details to their paintings. The first meeting of the week will introduce the flower, we will talk about the structure and setting up the painting, and we will start doing work on the background. Students will produce 10 paintings of flowers and explore the use of acrylic paint.
10 canvases or canvas paper, brushes in a variety of sizes (including sponges), old cloth for wiping spills, water cup, palette for mixing paint, aluminum foil (for preserving mixed paint), paint in a variety of colors (minimum red, blue, yellow, black, and white), and protective gear such as a smock and tablecloth for protecting surfaces from paint.
