Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Students will engage in a brief ice breaker to set their intentions for class before transitioning into a warm-up (10 minutes) in order to prepare the body for conditioning and progressive, deep stretch.

Each class will focus on on strengthening floor exercises utilizing classical Ballet positions and sequencing to develop core strength, extension and flexibility while developing the students comprehension of terminology as it relates to their own anatomy.

Students will actively share and demonstrate different postures and corrections, while participating in discussions regarding the progression of movement in each class.

Every week will include:

- Anatomy review

- Hip, Knee and Ankle Mobility +Strengthening Exercises
(maximizing flexibility and turn-out)

- Upper Body Exercises
(to improve port de bras and alignment)

- Core Strength Exercises
(to improve alignment and center of gravity for balances, turns and jumps)

Learning Goals

Students will improve their understanding and execution of proper alignment, stretching for functional flexibility and core strength in fluidity. They will learn fundamental anatomy and exercises that specifically enhance their dance training.

Parental Guidance
Students will be utilizing and learning their own bodies as instruments. While confidence is an inevitable side effect to learning dance at all levels, it is natural for your student to feel uncomfortable when learning their own bodies current capabilities and limitations in movement. I encourage parents to ask students what they worked on in each class, leaving space for them to feel more comfortable as they progress in the skin they're in. Students are encouraged to wear non-revealing, form fitting clothing (tank tops, fitted tees, leggings, leotards, tights, etc.)
