Description

Class Experience

Students will learn about the vocabulary for the lesson such as print making, the process of printing, the color combinations to make cool and warm pieces, the science behind chalk floating on the surface and not sinking to the bottom which allows it to transfer to the paper.
I have been teaching for 17 years, I have a passion for music and art and love to teach it to beginner reading students. Music and art opens so many possibilities and art is so easy to do if you have the write tools of shapes. I strive to integrate many topics into one since I usually only get to have my students once a week. You can learn something one day and be able to use it right away. I teach PreK-5th grade general music and art, This includes learning art and music history and basic knowledge to build upon.
Supplies for floating chalk print: A container with about 1 inch of water in the bottom, make sure the container is big enough for the half sheet of paper to lay down flat, Colored Chalk, something to scrape chalk: Popsicle stick or plastic knife, 2 pieces of paper cut in half (Cardstock or printer paper can be used), a Newspaper or towel to lay the paper on after dipped so it can dry.
Students will have complete pieces at the end of class that shows the chalk printing process and how successful the transfers were.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
