What's included

Class Experience

In this flexible course, students will learn about the function of the sentence (la phrase de base) and they will learn about the types of sentences (impérative, exclamative, passive, negative, etc.) Then, we will learn about the various ponctuations (le point, le point virgule, etc.) As the weeks progress, students will gain confidence in their grammar skills since they will be building on their learned knowledge. Also, this is an intermediate and advanced level french class for students. This class is great for students who have French experience because the class will be taught in French.

Here is an overview of the class: 

Week 1
Students will be introduced to “la phrase de base” through a pre-recorded mini-lesson video. They will also be introduced to “le schéma narratif”.

Classroom Activity & Interaction: Students will have to write a short story of a page or two. They will share their story in the classroom to then provide feedbacks to other students work. 

Individual Activity: Students will be asked to do various exercises online via Quizizz. 
 
Week 2:
Students will be introduced to “les types de phrases” through a pre-recorded mini-lesson video. 

Classroom activity & Interaction: Students will present their favourite book (fiction, documentary, comic book, etc) via a video and presents examples of “les types de phrases” from the book. 

Individual Activity: Students will be asked to do various exercises online via Quizizz. 

Week 3: 
Students will be introduced to “les formes de phrases” through a pre-recorded mini-lesson video. 

Individual activity: Students will be asked to do various exercises online via Quizizz and worksheets. 

Week 4: 
Students will be introduced to “la ponctuation” through a pre-recorded mini-lesson video.

Classroom activity: Students will read a text and they will have to edit it. They will have to make sure that the sentences have proper punctuation. They will share their corrected text in the classroom and students will have to review each others work. 

Individual Activity: Also, students will be asked to do various exercises online via Quizizz.  

Week 5: 
Individual activity: Students will do a final cumulative assessment with Kahoot.

At the beginning of each week, I will post a mini-lesson about a grammar concept. Students will then complete various written or interactive activities and will engage in conversation with others learners through the Outschool platform. I will be available daily through the classroom page to answer posted questions within 24 hours, or via private OS message.

I have a Bachelor of Arts specialized in French Literature (Lettres françaises) and a Bachelor in Education (in French) allowing me to teach grade K-6 and French class for middle school (grade 7-10).
