Class Experience

Be prepared to be a United States geography whiz! By the end of this flexible schedule class you will be able to place each state on a map of the United States! Plus we will learn one weird fact about ALL 50 of the states. We will cover between 15-20 states each week and have one week of review. I will teach students interesting facts about each state + use mnemonic devices, songs, silly rhymes and pictures to memorize where every state is. Students will interact with each other through...

Students will learn one fact about each state and be able to place each state on a United States map.

Week 1: 
Topic: Regions and the United States and the states of the South
Homework: Record a video about facts from your home state and post it to the classroom (if you are not from the United States, you can choose any state to make a video about).

Week 2: 
Topic: The states of the West and Northeast
Homework: Create a poem for the West and share it to the classroom.

Week 3: 
Topic: The states of the Midwest
Homework: Watch and comment on other student's state videos.

Week 4: Review and test

I will provide a blank map of the United States that students will be encouraged to fill out as they move through each class.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Nearpod

We will have a review and a test on Seterra during the last week of class.
