Class Experience

'The Flexible Full Body Fitness Blast' program, allows students to have great fun and challenge themselves to improve week upon week. Due to the nature of performing a certain volume of exercise, students will be able to have concrete targets for every form of exercise to be performed. They will also be able to build a sense of intrinsic motivation because as their performance improves, they will look to build on more volume and effective time-completion rate. Overall, students will gain comprehensive knowledge, which they can carry with them outside of the classroom and optimise healthy living. I will be providing weekly instructional videos, designed to keep students physically active, give them the knowledge of how to formulate their own exercising programs and become critical thinkers.

Please see expected interaction-

1.Weekly instructional videos shot first hand from me focused on-different exercises, muscle groups, exercise advice, benefits of healthy living, fitness programs e.g. EMOTM e.t.c(teacher to students)
2.Simple theory based questions posted in the classroom discussion about different topics like- safety in the fitness environment, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, effective fitness programs e.t.c(questions will involve things i discuss in my theory based video(s) for the week). Students will then need to answer the questions and I will provide feedback and/or development points to consider.(all students involved+instructor)
3.Analysis of the exercises performed from my instructional video and fitness program.(all students involved+instructor)
4.Students will have weekly projects of designing their own program cards and/or instructional videos, based on a template i will provide. (teacher to student)
5.Video evidence and/or written assessment from the students performing the exercises from the program card of the assigned student for the week.(submitted to instructor for evaluation and instructor feedback)

I have been an avid sports enthusiast and gym-goer for 15 years. I have participated and represented my schools, colleges and universities in many different tournaments in Cyprus, Canada, The United Kingdom, The United States and Tanzania. Moreover, I recently completed my formal qualification for Personal Fitness Training in the United Kingdom(REPS Accredited) . This has allowed me to gain experience of formulating different exercise programs, consult with different people from a variety of backgrounds and objectively see the significance of exercise in daily life.
Learners will have fun homework assignments. Firstly, each week students will need to submit a video detailing exercises performed from my program card. I will send out instructional videos for more reference and support. The video will contain exercises targeting the back, chest, triceps, biceps, shoulders and legs. I will send out instructional videos, prior to the start of the respective assessment week detailing the exercise program.  Each student will have the opportunity to give some exercise challenges for myself and/or the other students. Lastly, students will also be able to gain a great insight into some theory based aspects around exercise by answering some weekly discussion questions via the classroom discussion board. The homework should not take the students more than fours hours per week. 
We will look to make use of any supplies we have in the house to increase intensity and challenge us to grow. A pair of shoes, loaded school bags, books, water bottles, a couch, the wall, resistance bands e.t.c. We can get very creative and innovative with household items. Don't feel obligated to bring something, as I will provide alternative exercises if you cannot bring equipment.
After watching the instructional weekly videos that I send out, students should submit a recording of themselves performing the exercises and/or a written assessment. Thereafter, I will review the videos the students submit, along with the theory based answers and provide an informal written assessment. This will all be regulated by me and they will have the proper guidance.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.

1. Kindly make provisions for an open workout space(identify and remove any hazards around)
2. Dress in comfortable attire, ensuring proper footwear/clothing
3. It is important to hydrate well. Therefore, have water bottle if needed
4. Partake in adequate stretching before class if you need to
5. If at any time you feel any discomfort, stop the activity and let me know immediately
6. Feel free to ask me any questions about proper technique etc.
