Description

Class Experience

Key Points of our Reader Club:
— Who (Characters): Who do Jack and Annie meet?
— What (Plot, Story, Timeline): We learn about moving through plots, main ideas and details. Story prediction will a part of our adventure.
— When (History): What are the characters wearing? What do they use for transportation?
— Where (Geography/Setting): Where did we land? What do we see? Is this a real place? We will learn map skills as well.
— Why (Culture): Time travel is more fun and interactive when we look at the culture.
— How (Science): Science! Really? These books will have an element of science that we will explore.
— Why (Moral of the Story/Learning Lesson): The beautiful thing about the Magic Tree House series is the lessons we learn from the adventures of Jack and Annie.
I have offered these book clubs for Magic Tree House for over two decades and have facilitated these book clubs online for over three years. I love these books!! I read along with the children with the same enthusiasm they have as we travel in time. It is a joy to teach, read and journey with my students. I read at a very early age and remember the joy of a new book or an escape in time. I still read and listen to multiple books and participate in book clubs myself. I share book titles and suggestions with my friends. I hope to ignite this lifelong hobby to your child.
Videos will be posted in the classroom each Sunday by 9 pm EST. Students will be able to watch them and respond to discussion questions posted in the classroom. Optional field trips and videos via Approved Embedded YouTube links will be posted as well. Discussion questions will be posted on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday.

No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
YouTube videos will occasionally be embedded in the Outschool classroom if they provide enhanced learning opportunities.
I create my own slides/videos/course content using source materials and research using a variety of sources. These presentations will be a screen share of my Google Slide/PowerPoint presentations.
