This four-day class works towards achieving better flexibility. With over 10 years of gymnastics and acrobatic coaching, I've incorporated multiple stretching and fitness exercises specifically designed to improve students' overall fitness and ability to work towards their flexibility goals. This class is ideal for students who are interested in gymnastics, acrobatics, dance, cheerleading, yoga, or aerial arts. This class is for those who have some experience stretching. Each class is...
Students will improve their fitness and flexibility by working towards achieving their personal goals and improving their knowledge of different stretches.
I have over 10 years of experience as a gymnastics coach at my local Y [formerly the YMCA] and abroad teaching acrobatics. I also continuously train flexibility and aerial arts (aerial hoop and aerial hammock).
Students should bring a water bottle to class to stay hydrated. Ideally, students have a [yoga or any other non-slippery] mat to reduce any pressure on their knees. Advanced students [students who are close to their side splits] should bring either a yoga block or a towel to class to help improve flexibility.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
4 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be doing physical activities during this class please make sure that students have a water bottle in class to stay hydrated. Students must have a safe, comfortable, non-slippery space. Please make sure to clear the space of anything to prevent students from tripping over items or breaking anything. Please make sure students are not wearing socks if they are on a slippery floor and are in comfortable clothes for the stretching activities. Students do not need to wear sneakers. Please be aware of your child's abilities and supervise as necessary to avoid potential injuries. Most activities in this class involve minimal risk but as with any physical activities, there is the potential to overexert themselves if not properly supervised.
