The flexible schedule (Flex Class) allows your learners to watch the pre-recorded videos and do them at a time that is FUN for them! You can also spend extra time on the topics your child is most interested in. Since this is a flex class with no live meetings, students can log in at a time that is convenient for them to complete the week's lesson. We will be going through each week as a group and I will post the lesson weekly (depending on which day you started). Getting tired because they’re not getting enough sleep. Students will be provided with four separate videos to watch for each topic. These are outlined below. The videos will contain the information required to give students a good understanding of each topic and each one will include homework for the students to undertake during the week. Homework assignments will include writing a list of topics, interests, and areas of expertise in the students might be interested in developing. After watching each video and completing the homework assignments, students will be provided with feedback and the specific next steps to make help them with the new facts they learn. Timeframe for the Week: Mondays - The teacher will post the information needed for the week. Tuesdays-Wednesday - The teacher can answer any questions pertaining to the topic of the week. The students will need to complete any homework assignments and answer any questions in the class. Thursday - Students need to have all tasks completed and uploaded in the classroom. Friday - The teacher will provide feedback to the class and individual students, students will also be able to engage in peer-to-peer review and be able to discuss how they went about completing the tasks. Saturday - Sunday - The teacher will be available to answer any questions that the students may have for the week or the next week. ▬▬▬▬▬▬ This 8-week course will explore the reasons why video games can be addictive and the impact of excessive gaming on individuals and society. Students will learn about the psychological, social, and biological factors that contribute to video game addiction, as well as the latest research on the topic. The course will also cover treatment options for those who are struggling with video game addiction, and ways to prevent it. Week 1: Introduction to Video Game Addiction Week 2: Psychological Factors in Video Game Addiction Week 3: Social Factors in Video Game Addiction Week 4: Research on Video Game Addiction Week 6: Recognizing the signs of video game addiction Week 7: Explaining what healthy gaming means. Week 8: Time Management for Gaming ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Symptoms of video game addiction ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Are they playing more than 1 hour of video games a day? Are they becoming isolated from family and friends? Are they lying to others about how often they play video games, and do they often play in secret? Do they become upset and irritable when they’re not playing video games? Are they neglecting work or school to play video games? Are they avoiding activities they once enjoyed? Are they skipping meals to focus on gaming? Are they often tired because they’re not getting enough sleep? ▬▬▬▬▬▬ Class Content ▬▬▬▬▬▬ The research will be provided to prove how video games can have addictive qualities and the other side effects they can have on the mind and body if spent too long playing them. I will show how the games industry programs games to be addictive and use up as much of your time as possible. How to spot and or deal with video game addiction. What to do if you feel you have an issue with gaming taking over all your free time. Please note, this class will highlight to students how much of their lives they are wasting on gaming and the harmful effects this has on their minds, bodies and relationships. Some students can find the realisation that they have a video game addiction problem profoundly distressing.
After this class, please ensure that you speak to your child about what we have covered and be prepared to offer the support they will need to overcome their addiction. You may wish to approach local counselling services to find out what professional support is available to you.
Please be aware that addiction is a problem, whether it is video games, drugs, alcohol or any other addictive behaviour. If your child identifies that they have a problem during this class please seek professional help immediately.

Johnathan holds a Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science during which course he learned how to programme video games and the science behind making the games highly addictive, a requirement of the companies who make money from this 90 billion dollar industry.
He has worked with children of all ages in the fields of sports, circus skills and business as a trainer and mentor. He has extensive experience of mentoring and counselling which he applies during this class.
Johnathan has been a martial arts expert since the age of 9. From the age of 16 he worked with various circus teams where he learned many skills. He has travelled the world performing for audiences including Formula 1 events, royalty and international superstars. He is a fully insured fire performer with many skills including bubbleology, staff spinning, juggling and stilt walking, to name but a few.
As a serial entrepreneur who founded three successful companies before the age of 30, my drive to succeed in life began in my teens when I realised the power of positive motivation. I was lucky enough to have a good mentor who guided me through the intricacies of financial management which helped me to understand the value of money, how to identify and seize opportunities to make money and how to manage an investment portfolio.
