Description
Class Experience
Learners will learn historical facts about the American Girls and their time periods in each of the American Girl stories we discuss.
This is a fun class for avid American Girl lovers and readers to come and communicate with each other about the different American Girls and their stories. As we travel through the different time periods, we will have a brief discussion about what life was like during that time period. I choose to pull my information straight from the American Girl website. If you would like to check it out, please do so! https://www.americangirl.com/parents-and-teachers What I discuss with your learners will be age-appropriate, especially when considering the different time periods of history. I am certified to teach grades K-2 and 1-6. I have taught for the past 4 years. I am excited to bring my love for reading and my love for American Girls to this class. I hope that I am able to tie in some minor History facts for your learners as we gather for this Flex book club!
Although this is not required, it may be helpful to have read the book prior to class, or have a general idea of the story. In class, we will discuss different parts of the story as we look back to locate different literary elements. If you do not have the hard copy of the book, please don't worry. You can find a summary online or even search for a read-aloud (or audible) version of the story, too!
- Each week, I will post any materials/worksheets necessary for our week's activities. - Please share photos of your learner's activities/assignments each week. This will help to keep the engagement and interaction going!

In this class, we will be reading about different American Girl dolls and discussing a general portion of their culture/time period. The content will be presented in an age-appropriate manner.
