As an educator with an early childhood and elementary dual certification I know the importance of modeling when it comes to emergent writers. In this flex schedule class video/audio slide shows will do just that, model creative ways to begin, expand and conclude pieces of writing. Following the viewing of these weekly videos students will need to participate by making posts to the classroom page where I will respond and help students to adjust their ideas to become stronger sentences....
Working with young writers and giving them confidence to know where to start and how to improve is a passion of mine. When I taught 1st grade guiding emergent writers became something that was valued by the second grade teachers. Children have great ideas and potential, giving them the right tools is all they really need.
Handouts will be available for students to print.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
