This class is a flex version of my spelling bee classes for those students who like the flex class format on outschool. There is NO LIVE CLASSES. These lessons are the same lessons in my ongoing spelling Games classes. In this class your lessons will be conducted on Kahoot.com. First the a video will be loaded to the classroom by the teacher, going over the list words for that week and how to pronounce and spell each of these words. Next you will be given a link and a code each week to access the lesson and spelling be quiz on kahoot. You will not have to have an email to access this, the link and code is what gives you access. It is required that students use their real first name on this so that the teacher is able to access your scores and see how you did. You will be allowed to retake the quiz portion if you are not happy with your score. This has no limits. Students are asked to write each list word one time each on their own paper. This can be done as they watch the video with the teacher reading and spelling each list word. I suggest keeping a notebook with all of your spelling words. Then students are given a couple of activities going over list words and their definitions. These questions are multiple choice and will be in kahoot. Students are encouraged to use this resource as much as they need and practice these list words. There will also be other games students can use to practice on nearpod.com, blooket.com, and gimkit.com.. These links to these games will also be provided in the classroom. This class will be broken up into 4 parts. This is part 1 of 4. Here is a layout of what will be covered in each class: Semester 1 Week 1: Lesson 1: consonants Week 2: Lesson 2: hard and soft c and g Week 3: Lesson 3: short vowel sounds Week 4: Lesson 4: long vowel sound a Week 5: Lesson 5: long vowel sound i Week 6: Lesson 7: long vowel sounds o and u Week 7: Lesson 8: longs vowel sound e Week 8: Lesson 9: consonant blends Week 9: Lesson 10: consonant blends Week 10: Lesson 11: y as a vowel Week 11: Lesson 13: y as a vowel Week 12: Lesson 14: consonant digraphs sh and th Week 13: Lesson 15: consonant digraphs ch and wh Week 14: Lesson 16: consonant digraphs Week 15: Lesson 17: consonant clusters Week 16: Lesson 19: vowels with r

I am veteran homeschool mom of 20+ years. I also have a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning with Technology. I believe through reading, writing, and spelling aloud, students will better remember how to spell words, and practicing weekly will help them become better spellers. I believe each student learns differently so by providing several different ways for students to practice their spelling is a goal I include in each of my classes. I try to also use patience and go at the speed of each student with all of my classes.
