Class Experience
This FLEX course will address the mechanics of speech sounds through the use of the Lively Letters curriculum. Students will learn placement of speech helpers as well as voicing. Videos will be uploaded weekly addressing multiple speech sounds. Week 1 will address fricatives. These are sounds that are used by pushing air through the front of our mouths such as /f/ and /s/. Week 2 will address velar sounds. These are sounds that are used in the back of our mouths such as /k, g, and ng/) Week 3 will address alveolar sounds that are made just behind our teeth such as /ch, j, and sh/ Week 4 will address liquid sounds such as /r/ and /l/. Each week we will not only practice these speech sounds but learn a story about each sound we address in order to improve phonemic awareness and improve overall speech production using the Lively Letters Curriculum.
