Intermediate Level
In this class we will be making eight clothing items for 18 inch dolls that fit the 1900s time period. We will be using the official Pleasant Company patterns for Samantha's Pretty Clothes so you're doll can dress just like Samantha. Prior to beginning this class students should have basic knowledge of a sewing machine including threading the machine and sewing a straight seam. Because all machines are different, instructor can help with basic machine questions and problems but it is highly suggested that a parent or other assistant who knows the machine is available for hands on help if necessary. Instructor will be posting daily videos demonstrating the sewing pattern. Students are expected to complete the steps on their own project and post progression photos and/or questions or problems about the given step. Learners are expected to comment on one another's photos with help and/or encouragement as they learn about the sewing process together. Week 1: All about Fabric, buying our fabric, and preparing our patterns Week 2: Samantha's Birthday Dress Week 3: Samantha's Lacy Pinafore & Rosebud Circlet Week 4: Samantha's Plaid Cape Week 5: Samantha's Party Dress Week 6: Samantha's Nightgown Week 7: Samantha's Lacy Whites Week 8: Samantha's Hat and Muff & Gaiters Instructor will be available throughout the course to answer any questions and help problem solve in the classroom, through chat, and via personal video meetings. Please note that this is a leveled class. Each student is required to know how to accomplish the tasks in the previous levels before beginning classes of a higher level as I will no longer be covering those skills in higher level courses. If students need help learning a skill they have missed in a previous level class please message me and I can point you to a class where we teach that skill or set up a private lesson to make sure the skill is learned. Novice: straight stitches, hems, casings, elastic Beginner: straight stitching, some hand sewing, applying snaps Confident Beginner: gathering, hook & loop tape (aka velcro) Intermediate: fold over elastic, stretch lace, bias tape, pleats, darts, zippers, and pockets Advanced Intermediate: sizing techniques Experienced: beading, buttonholes, welt pockets Advanced: couture techniques, french seams

Bachelor's Degree from Brigham Young Univeristy - Idaho
Hello! I'm Aubrey and I am mom to 9 crazy children ages four through sixteen. We live on a homestead in Idaho where we raise rabbits, chickens, turkeys, ducks, quail, goats, pigs and sheep.
I have a degree in Math Education and one in Family History but I love to teach a number of subjects. I absolutely love meeting new students! My favorite thing about teaching is helping my students to learn to use the tools that I am giving them in their daily life. Join my classes to learn about math, English, history and many more homestead themed topics to help you complete daily tasks and possibly find a new hobby in the process.
I'm excited to meet you!
