Class Experience
Art in general is like a sport. You have to frequently train that muscle to get even better! This 5 week course will for sure improve each learner’s drawing skills and confidence. Students will learn how to start and finish 5 drawings in this course.
- Vote in Weekly Poll - Post to Digital Bulletin Board Sticky Note Project + leave at least 1 positive “Sticky Note” on 1 student’s Sticky Note of their Artwork. - Additional Resource PowerPoint - Optional Quizzes - iSpy Game
- Polymer Clay (You can find a large and affordable pack of affordable colors online) - Assortment of polymer clay tools (such as a clay knife) - Some type of oven for baking your clay after class - Polymer Clay Glaze (Optional) - (Optional) glass eyeballs for the dragons
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Every week, after students post their dragon to the digital bulletin board, I will send out feedback. I will privately message a rubric out to each student with my feedback based on their project. This feed back should help students improve their future creations. NOTE: It is mandatory that you participate in the digital sticky board assignment so that I am able to give you feedback! There is NO official grade that will be given at the end of the course. The main goal of the course is to focus on your personal growth journey of art! This is why I send out a Weekly feedback Rubric so students can focus on areas they may need to improve, and are aware of their strong suits. - The optional Weekly Fun Fact Quizzes will give you a grade after completion! Throughout each weekly Clay Tutorial Video that will be posted, I will randomly present to you 5 Fun Facts about the drawing subject. After students watch the Clay Tutorial Video, students may participate in the OPTIONAL quiz, that reviews the fun facts presented in the video. - This quiz will be posted at the same time as the Weekly Clay Tutorial Video, but should be taken after watching the Weekly Clay Tutorial Video.
No live meetings, and no time outside of class.
No parental supervision is required to create the clay craft. However, after using the clay it must be baked. Baking the clay requires parent supervision.
