FLEX Pokémon Pixel Art (Set 1)
Class experience
Who is up for some cool pixel art? I will teach young artists how to make Pokemon themed art on graph paper, guiding them to create their own drawing by following along. Students will need a variety of colored markers, pencils, or pens, to create their pixel art. I will teach on graph paper, and students should come prepared with their own graph paper, which can be printed for free online: https://www.waterproofpaper.com/graph-paper/graph-paper-quarter-inch.pdf. We will build the art square...
Homework Offered
Each week, follow the video to create your own pixel art. Add your own details, leave as is, or cut it out if you'd like. Post an image to the classroom of the week’s art, and also a video of yourself walking us through your picture. Tell us how the the assignment went for you and, if applicable, the way you have made the art assignment unique to you. Tell us what medium you used (crayons, colored pencils, paint, markers). During this video, you also may talk about anything related to Pokemon! Show us your favorite cards, a plushie you have, or tell us about your favorite Pokemon. You may also share other artwork you have created. Your video can be more of a show and tell video. Please try to keep videos to about 3 minutes or less, if possible. In addition to the image and video, you will be asked to answer the weekly “getting to know you” prompt. A new prompt will be added weekly in the classroom, where each student can provide their answers in a comment. The weekly question may ask something related to your interest in Pokemon or art. For example, one week the question may be, “Which Pokemon is your favorite, and why?” Finally, learners will be able to look at others’ images and videos. Learners should add comments to other learners’ work. Do you have something in common with another learner? Do you love how they added their own twist to their art? Finding the things you appreciate about someone else’s art can help you as an artist, as well as build community!0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
