Description
Class Experience
Each week, follow the video to create your own pixel art. Add your own details, leave as is, or cut it out if you'd like. Post an image to the classroom of the week’s art, and also a video of yourself walking us through your picture. Tell us how the the assignment went for you and, if applicable, the way you have made the art assignment unique to you. Tell us what medium you used (crayons, colored pencils, paint, markers). During this video, you also may talk about anything related to Mario Bros! Show us your Lego Mario course, a plushie you have, or a favorite game. You may also share other artwork you have created. Your video can be more of a show and tell video. Please try to keep videos to about 3 minutes or less, if possible. In addition to the image and video, you will be asked to answer the weekly “getting to know you” prompt. A new prompt will be added weekly in the classroom, where each student can provide their answers in a comment. The weekly question may ask something related to your interest in Mario Bros or art. For example, one week the question may be, “Which Mario Bros character is your favorite, and why?” Finally, learners are encouraged to look at others’ final images and videos. Learners should consider adding comments to other learners’ work. Finding the things you appreciate about someone else’s art can help you as an artist, as well as build community!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
I will view every student’s completed work each week (their submitted photo and video) and provide comments and feedback for each drawing. While there will be no formal grades for this class, I will be communicating to each student about their work each week, to help them stay connected, and to help them learn.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
