Class Experience

Who is up for some cool pixel art? This is my Christmas themed version of my pixel art self-paced classes!

I will teach young artists how to draw the pixel art 8-bit Christmas themed figures on graph paper, guiding them to create their own picture by following along. Students will need a variety of colored markers, pencils, or pens, to create their pixel art.

Each video lesson will show my hands while I explain step by step (or should I say square by square), how to create the picture. Learners will need to have their own graph paper, which can be printed from The Welcome Message.
We will build the art square by square, until the picture comes to life!
Lessons are posted once per week, at 6am Central.

Students are asked to post their final drawing each week if they are comfortable doing so. I welcome any pictures, videos, or questions as well! Engage and much or as little as you are comfortable.

After creating our art, there may be other ways to use your drawings as a guide for more art exploration. Using bricks, beads, and more, keep creating and use your graph drawing as your guide to bring the image to life in other ways! I am so excited to create some festive pixel art with you!

Hello, I'm Ms. Jes!

In my classes, kids unleash their inner artist using favorite characters and games that I’m just as passionate about as they are. We explore spontaneous creativity and embracing “mistakes”. Let’s start drawing outside the box!

I am most passionate about teaching art and learning in unique ways. My approach to teaching infuses encouragement and optimism while having fun and connecting with a new generation over shared interests. Every child is special and celebrated for being who they are! No matter the class, I believe in positively approaching learning and finding joy in it.

• Outside of Outschool, I founded a nonprofit youth performing arts academy in 2015.

• I live in the beautiful Midwest of the USA with my husband and two children.

• If you need financial assistance, please don't hesitate to message me, and I will do my best to offer a reduced rate whenever possible.
