Description

Class Experience

Students will improve their skills in photo composition by learning various components of the subject.
I've been a teacher in a traditional classroom since 2002. During that time, I have experience with pre-K through 8th grade. To further my interest in photography, I completed the New York Institute of Photography courses and received my certificate of completion in 2006. I've also completed several online training to strengthen my skills. I have photographed weddings, real estate, and portraits professionally but I absolutely love photographing nature and macro shots!
Each week, students will be assigned a photo taking project and asked to share one or two of their favorite photos of the week to discuss in class. They will also need to complete the quizizz activity at the end of each lesson, as well as use the provided rubric to give feedback for their classmate's photographs.
Students will need a digital camera to complete this course. It does not have to be anything fancy or high-tech. As long as it takes pictures, it's fine!
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will be assessed through interaction on Padlet, as well as a weekly Quizizz trivia game focused around the information presented in the lesson. A structured rubric and letter grade is available upon request.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
A link and/or QR code will be available in the classroom to access the lessons and quizzes.
