(FLEX Part 2) Advanced Equine Anatomy: Coloring Science & Physiology [9-12 Yo]
Class experience
US Grade 4 - 6
Advanced Level
This course is the most in-depth look at horse anatomy and physiology currently found on the Outschool platform. This course is not introductory. I have adapted a live course to include FLEX activities and include a younger age range. The live taught version of this course can be found here (11-15 year olds): https://outschool.com/classes/coloring-horses-advanced-vet-biology-zoology-anatomy-physiology-1vXAmUWm#usSwirNx6I This course vocabulary is challenging. This is Part 2 of the class....
This class is taught in English.
Each week has their own set of goals and learning outcomes. Ideally, each class meeting, students learn body parts and how those body parts affect the horse.
I am an Animal Scientist after graduating NC State in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Pre-Vet Animal Science with a minor in Agriculture Business Management, Equine Performance Anatomy and Exercise Physiology, and concentrations in Emergency Work, Biology, and Physiology. I worked in veterinary medicine at NC State University and began my vet work in 2004. I studied the Equine Industry throughout Europe and Ireland and conducted a long-term research equine project at North Carolina State University. I am prepared for this course.

Each Video is around 20-30 minutes long, 3 videos weekly. Some students will prefer to do extra games and coloring to reinforce their learning. Please observe your children if needed with coloring utensils if sharp. There is no inappropriate content. We do not discuss the reproductive tract in the book in any part of this course. Beyond basic answers (such as "What is a gelding?" answered by, "A gelding is a boy horse who cannot have foals," reproductive questions will be referred to mom and dad. I do not teach this in this course. However, because it is veterinary related, students may see organs or cares they think are "disgusting." In video lecture, students will see blood, pee, poop, talk about farts, and see blood and organs/muscle tissue.
