US Grade Kindergarten - 3
In this eight week course, learners will discover spring through hands-on activities, group collaboration, nature discovery walks, and more!

Below are the descriptions of the themes/topics covered in each week. By the end of the course, your learner will have a complete spring nature study notebook with a section for each topic. Each week includes a coloring sheet (to use as cover page for each section in final notebook), a video lesson with printable activity sheet to follow along/interact with the lesson, STEAM activity printable instructions and video, craft project printable PDF instructions with printable materials (when applicable), and printable nature scavenger hunt challenges related to the theme each week. 
Throughout each week students have an opportunity to develop their problem solving, early literacy, math, and fine motor skills.

Learning Needs
This class is taught by a certified special education teacher. Throughout the course, students engage in multi-sensory activities and learning through multiple modalities.
Parental Guidance
During this class, we will be completing several crafts and other activities requiring the use of scissors. Depending on your learner, this may require assistance and/or supervision.
Supply List
Week 1:
Video lesson - Printed cut and paste sheet, Glue & Scissors
STEAM Project - An orange, a pencil or skewer, flashlight, permanent marker
Craft - Cotton swabs, paint in various colors (green, pink, red, brown, etc..), printed tree templates

Week 2:
Video lesson - Printed cut-outs, Paper Plate, scissors, glue
STEAM Project - Metal pan, ice, water, glass jar, hairspray
Craft - String or fishing wire, wax paper, paintbrush, white school glue, construction paper (blue) , printable templates, tissue paper (blue and/or white)

Week 3:
Video lesson - Glue, scissors, crayons, printed cut & paste sheet
STEAM Project - Glass cup or container, water, white paper
Craft - Fishing line, clear beads (any color), small prism with pre-drilled hole (typically available with jewelry making supplies)

Week 4:
Video lesson - scissors, printed cut & paste sheet, metal prong fastener
STEAM Project - Empty large can/canister (recycled coffee canister), clear plastic wrap, gray tape, scissors, rubber band 
Craft - cutout template, green, pink, & purple construction paper, black marker, yellow tissue paper, glue, paper plate

Week 5:
Video lesson - glue, scissors, printed cut & paste sheet
STEAM Project - Recycled egg shells (enough space for plant), seeds of choice (herbs work best), permanent black marker, soil 
Craft - Empty toilet tissue roll, blue craft paint, pipe cleaner, pink tissue paper, pink paper garland, brown construction paper

Week 6:
Video lesson - glue, scissors, printed cut & paste sheet
STEAM Project - scissors, glue, pom-poms, cheese puffs, craft/popsicle sticks (2), jar lid
Craft - printable cutouts, black and yellow markers, black construction paper, yellow construction paper

Week 7:
Video lesson - glue, scissors, printed cut & paste sheet
STEAM Project - glue, paper plate, black marker, printable cutouts, markers, 1 piece each of the following  - bow tie pasta, rice, Small shell, rotini (substitutions are fine!!)
Craft - watercolor paint & paint brush, water, pipe cleaner, coffee filter 

Week 8:
Video lesson - glue, scissors, printed cut & paste sheet
STEAM Project - various materials gathered from nature and/or recycled (plastic straws, sticks, leaves, string, etc…), real or pretend eggs
Craft - liquid school glue, small balloon, paint brush, yarn or string, scissors
 1 file available upon enrollment
