Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to:
- explain what multiplication is
- represent multiplication using multiple strategies
- identify examples of multiplication in real life
- apply multiplication to real- life examples
I have been a teacher in upper elementary for 4 (going on 5) years. Multiplication is one of the most prominent math skills in theses grades, so I understand the importance of having a strong multiplication foundation.
Students will receive optional homework each week to support their multiplication learning. This homework should only take about 20 minutes.
Students will need: - 30 manipulatives (these can be anything you want as long as they are the same size. Examples include snapping cubes, coin- sized pieces of paper, leggo's, pencil erasers, etc.) - graph paper - construction paper - colored writing tools (pens, pencils, markers, etc.) - masking tape with a marker to write on the tape - yarn
Learners will be assessed with the final project. Informal feedback will be given to each learner after submissions.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Handouts, videos, Nearpods, etc. will be utilized in this class and will be released every Monday at 9am EST.
