This class is taught in English.
Students will learn how to play the flute by learning notes, rhythms, and songs.
I have been an elementary teacher for ten years. I have been playing flute for over twenty years with experience in middle and high school, as well as some college. My main instrument is flute, but I also have experience with piccolo, piano, and saxophone. I participated in concert, jazz, marching, and pep band.
Since this is a flex class students will be expected to complete most of these activities independently. However students are encouraged to ask questions based on the class chat. There will be videos to watch and students will need to record themselves playing and post to the class page so the teacher can help them improve. There will also be a weekly game for students to play. This may be a scavenger hunt, a online game using quizzlet or other website, or another fun activity There will be one page assigned weekly posted in the classroom. This page should only take about 10 minutes to complete and will be more of a game or activity page. Students will also be assigned weekly playing practice. They will need to write down their playing time along with the notes or numbers in the book that they practice. The total time required for daily practice should not exceed more than twenty minutes a day. Daily practice is best to learn the skills needed.
