(FLEX) Magic Tree House: Become Master Librarians! Solve Riddles! (Books 9-12)

Class
Ms. Stephenie
Average rating:5.0Number of reviews:(73)
In this 8-week program, learners will solve the ancient riddles in Magic Tree House books (#9-12) in order to become Master Librarians with Jack and Annie, so they can continue to travel with the help of a time traveling magic tree house!

Class experience

US Grade 1 - 4
Students will improve reading, listening skill, reading aloud, writing, comprehension, summarizing, vocabulary, prediction, and story analysis and more. Learners can learn so many fun educational topics from each book.
These Magic Tree House book series contain a magical traveling treehouse where two young children, Jack and Annie, go on various adventures together. Various educational topics, history, science, and fun facts are learned from these books. If a learner is sensitive to adventure books, I would recommend another class.
Homework Offered
Learners will be assigned chapters to complete reading or listening to from each four books outside of class. At the end of week 2,4, 6 and 8, students will complete mini-book reports (print-outs provided). Students will love using the interactive Nearpod, which will have meaningful educational lessons created by the teacher, that will allow them to be more engaged with their learning experience.
1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Teacher Stephenie will be able to see the results of the Nearpod responses, and provide personalized feedback to each learner every week, as well as provide guidance at the completion of each book for the mini-book report.
Grades Offered
Books can be found at the library and online (print, eBook, and audio). Used books are found for low prices each. You can also find many people on Youtube, who read the books aloud. The physical book is also helpful in class, but not required.

Each week, learners will receive printable handouts that will be posted in the classroom board.

A notebook will be needed to write down vocabulary, take notes and answer comprehension questions. Print-outs can also be pasted into the notebook to have it all in one place. Folders or binders are optional.

Pencils (or pens), paper, and markers or crayons will be needed.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
These books contain mild danger of the main characters who are children. An example would be Jack seeing a shark in the water as he and Annie swam in the ocean.
Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne will be the main source of books used in the class.
Nearpod lessons and activities created by Ms. Stephenie will be used for interactive learning engagement.
