Want to know how to create fairly simple desserts that are delicious and impressive? YOU GOT THIS! We will create a different, yummy dessert each week. These recipes are easy enough for the newest baker but will impress your tasters! There are some recipes that use a special pan (Bundt and spring form/break away pan). Week 1Lesson 1Soft Chocolate Chip CookiesWe will make a cookie that remains soft because of the secret ingredient-pudding! For this class we will use a mixer, oven, baking sheets, large bowl, medium cookie scoop if you have one, rubber spatula to scrape down your bowl, measuring spoons and cups, and a spatula to lift the cookies from the cookie sheet, and people to share with!Week 2Lesson 2Peanut butter cups- made in a casserole dish and cut in squaresWe'll make a delicious bar cookie so rich you'll not need much to be satisfied! Graham crackers, powdered sugar, peanut butter and a few of the ingredients we'll use. We will need a gallon bag and rolling pin, large bowl for mixing, microwave, glass bowl for melting chocolate in the microwave, Or a pan to melt things on the stove if you don't have a microwave, 9x13 casserole pan, measuring cups, rubber spatula to mix. These do not bake in the oven.Week 3Lesson 3Butterscotch BlondiesThis week another bar type cookie. Let's make a brownie without chocolate. A blondie. We'll use brown sugar and make a yummy treat to share. We will need the oven, large bowl to mix ingredients, rubber spatula or large heavy spoon to stir ingredients, measuring spoons and cups, mixer, 9x13 casserole dish. There will be enough to share your baking with those you love!Week 4Lesson 4Caramel Apple Cupcakes-so good and a fun fall treat!This week we make a delicious apple vanilla cupcake and caramel frosting good enough to eat by itself! We will need a mixer, paper muffin/cupcake cups, and cupcake pans. This recipe makes 24. We'll need a large bowl for mixing the cupcake batter, rubber spatula to scrape the bowl, measuring cups and spoons, medium pan and stovetop burner to cook the frosting, knife for spreading the frosting, and friends and family to share all the cupcakes with.
I want my students to enjoy baking simple but yummy desserts from a young age taking pride in the presentation as well as the taste. we will also learn to recognize ingredients that compliment each other. Flavors that blend together to create a new recipe a little different than the one we make in class.
The new recipe will be put on the classroom Sunday so you can be ready to bake.
You know best if your child is comfortable using the stove top, as well as a knife or other small appliances. If you or your child are uncomfortable with that, please be available to assist them as needed.
