Description

Class Experience

*This course is flexible schedule. No live classes will be held.*

In this course, students will watch daily, 15 minute videos reviewing the following concepts: 

Writing Your Name (individualized writing practice will be provided)
Rhyming
Syllables
Beginning Sounds
Concepts of Print
Asking/Answering Questions about text
Alphabet Names A—Z
Uppercase Letter Writing

Each video will follow the following format: 
3-5 minutes phonological awareness (rhyming/syllables/beginning sounds)
5-8 minutes...

Students will be able to identify the letters A-Z and write them. Students will be able to break words into syllables, identify rhyming words, and the beginning sounds of words. Students will ask and answer questions about stories they listen to.

Students will have a daily assignment. Homework will take between 30-45 minutes per day.

Handouts will be provided and will need to be printed.
Shaving cream, pudding, or sand for multi sensory writing.
Pencils
Crayons
Card stock (for printing flash cards)

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Flipgrid

Students are given an assessment at the end of the course. Grades can be given upon request.

No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
