1-2 hours per week. Each lesson will provide minimal homework to help reinforce the lesson or provide additional practice for the student. Learners may receive handouts and supportive tools for practice. Many of the homework assignments will consist of uploading videos to practice saying new vocabulary in French and presenting their homework assignment in an interactive way.Assessment
Learners will be assessed weekly with their video submissions, Kahoot assignments and other quiz material. As per the learners needs additional content or instruction may be provided to ensure they understand the material or on track. Office hours may also be used to ask questions or obtain further support.Progress Report

Learners will share their responses in the Outschool classroom weekly and they will be encouraged to share and submit regular homework to practice the unit material. Providing weekly comments and/or questions about the lesson within the online classroom will allow the instructor to ensure content was well understood by the learner. Book a 15 min online assessment with Teacher Michelle ✨ Video lessons are 20-30 minutes in length with homework summaries provided for each class to keep learners on track weekly. ✨ Weekly learner participation is recommended in the Outschool classroom discussion board which teacher will respond to help you with your progress. ✨ After each lesson, instructor will provide a practical component or activity that will be unit based to assist learners in practicing their new vocabulary and pronunciation. Personalized weekly teacher video feedback may be provided to learners prior to the next class to assist in improving pronunciation and comprehension as necessary. ✨ Learners who have previous French experience, but would like to improve their skills would be suitable for this course. It is also suitable for new learners to prepare for other courses offered by Teacher Michelle like Yes, I Speak French 1:1 (Ongoing) This class provides learners with the opportunity to learn at their pace and review lessons before moving to the next one. Learners are encouraged to ask questions and participate actively. If desired, live office hours may be booked in week 2, 5, 9 and a link to a 1:1 session will be sent to confirm your time. Learners may also book with teacher for additional assistance weekly prior to class at mutually agreeable time. A video option is also available. My teaching style is supportive and encouraging.
Learning Goals
The learners will be encouraged to take what they have learned in the lessons to practically use in everyday living.By the end of level 1, learners will have a good understanding of how to read and say and understand a basic sentence in French.

Lesson 1:
The French Alphabet & Class Introduction
My lesson is about learning the distinct letter sounds in French and the pronunciation. Students will also take the opportunity to introduce themselves and share any specifics about their French experience. 17 mins of video lessons

Numbers in French
My lesson is about learning the numbers in French from 1 to 100 with specific tips on how to recall some of the harder numbers in French. Lesson 3:
French articles
In this lesson, learners will learn how to use articles in French to describe nouns and the importance of articles in French. 19 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
School vocabulary
Learners will learn some of the key vocabulary in the school or classroom room setting. 6 mins of video lessons

I 've taught consistently on the Outschool platform since 2020 with my primary focus on French instruction for all levels. I offer 1:1 classes, group class learning with Immersive French and conversational classes. Teaching French is what I love to do and I will bring warmth, enthusiasm and fun to the classroom with an opportunity for students to interact, learn and feel comfortable as we learn.
During day, my role as community relations leader in healthcare brings me the joy and opportunity to teach, mentor and see learners of all ages develop every day. I look forward to offering leadership classes in the near future.
I've taught well over 3,500 English & French classes. My path to French started in kindergarten as a child in French Immersion. I eventually pursued my Honours Bachelor's degree in French Studies and Communications. I have spoken French for over 25 years. I am fully bilingual and have tutored all ages -- from children to adults. I also hold my TESOL certification.
My experience is varied and allows me to bring well-rounded perspective from sports and fitness, hospitality, broadcast media, non-profit and healthcare. I will bring this perspective to my lessons to help students apply and learn new things.
