In this six-week course, students will use visual art to create visual disguises! Let's learn how to draw animals camouflaged into the 5 major types of biomes while concentrating on how to use chalk pastels as the medium. #creative

*✅* Please note that since this is a FLEX course we will not have scheduled live meetings, instead, each learner will be able to work on their art at their convenience. ✏️ This course will enhance observation skills and the understanding of creating the illusion of space through placement, size, and overlapping of objects, atmospheric perspective, and the amount of texture and detail added to each scene. Students will gain skills in drawing, shading, color mixing, and observation while using chalk pastels and colored pencils.
I have been teaching this and similar drawing lessons for 20+ years to a variety of age ranges.
Homework Offered
Since this is a flexible schedule course there will be no live meetings. Each learner should spend between 45-75 minutes of time a week drawing.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Guidance will be provided every step of each project as learners share and communicate through the Outschool classroom.Grades Offered
- 6 pieces of good drawing paper - Extra sketch paper to experiment on plus paper to protect the pastel drawing from smearing - Pencil - Eraser - *Soft Chalk Pastels - Colored Pencils - Dry tissues or paper towels - Wet paper towel or rag to clean hands throughout each session Placemat *Please note that chalk pastels (sometimes called soft pastels) are very different from oil pastels. I bring this up just because I have had students come to class with oil pastels and instruction is a bit different for the two materials.
