Class Experience
In this class students will learn how to make a variety of holiday treats. Each week a new video will be uploaded on how to make a new treat. Students will able to follow along with the video and written instructions on how to create the treats. Students will learn how to make a variety of treats.
I love to cook and bake during the holidays and do so every year with my family. It has been a family tradition of mine to bake goodies to give away as gifts to friends and loved ones. I would be more than happy to share these recipes and experience with you and your family.
Students may need access to a stove, stove top, and or microwave for some of the recipes. Please use caution and always ask for permission or assistance from an adult. 1. Holly Clusters Materials ~1/2 cup (1 stick) butter ~30 large (regular, not jumbo) marshmallows ~1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract ~1½ teaspoons green food coloring ~3½ cups corn flakes ~red cinnamon candies (can substitute red skittles or m&ms if desired) ~waxed paper 2. Haystacks Materials ~ waxed paper ~ 1 cup butterscotch chips ~2 cups chow mein noodles ~1/2 cup salted peanuts 3. Chocolate Dipped Items (pretzels, wafers, Materials ~1 pack of melting chocolate ~desired items for dipping ~ peppermints/sprinkles for toppings if desired ~ melting pot or bowl and microwave to melt chocolate 4. Please supervise or give your child permission to use various devices around the kitchen such as a stove, microwave, etc. The videos will be uploaded in the classroom. I will also have written directions on google docs in a google folder so that they will have access even after class is over. Please read the ingredients for all recipes as some contain nuts. If your child has any allergies please be aware that some of these recipes may contain allergens.
