Class Experience

FLEX CLASS: THIS IS AN ASYNCHRONOUS CLASS. THERE ARE NO SCHEDULED MEETING TIMES. STUDENTS WILL WATCH THE RECORDED CLASSES AT A TIME THAT WORKS BEST FOR THEM. 

This 8-week flex class introduces elementary students to six different types of poetry. Young learners will read poems, write their own poetry, and post their poetry and recordings of themselves reading their poems in the classroom. Students will learn about 6 different forms of poetry. They will learn how to write poetry, including counting syllables.

I have a degree in elementary education, and I have been homeschooling for over 20 years.

Students will be required to write a simple poem each week. They will post their poems in the classroom.

Printouts posted prior to each class

I will give feedback on each poem. I will be checking to make sure that the student met all of the requirements for a particular poem.

No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
