This flex class for ages 11-14 is a crash course in some of the most important things to know about academic writing. Quick and comprehensive, this introductory class will teach students the following: Week 1: Welcome to Introduction to Writing - Why does writing matter? - What types of things might we write? - Understanding the writing process - Developing strong writing habits Assignment: reviewing the writing process and creating a personal writing routine Week 2: Building Effective...
Students will learn the mechanics of writing essays, from the purpose of writing through sentence structure, organization, and editing.
Learners will have assigned homework each week.
