Class Experience
This is a Flex course of 6 classes ( $13 x 6 ) in which we will learn how to analyze proportions and color blocks with beautiful drawings of animals! The animals included are intentionally different from the ones offered in a one-time class format so in case any of my one-time class students feel - the flex course format will work better with their schedule - now they have that opportunity! I am excited to offer you this format as well! Animals included in class: Dog, Cat, Bunny, Piglet, Horse, Chicken The difficulty scale is from beginner to intermediate! So there is something for everyone and all are welcomed! The course is divided into 6 classes: We will focus on developing accurate proportions and texture with difficulty increasing with each class - let's make progress together! 1. First Class ( Dog - Portrait ): We will focus only on the close up of a dog, so we can practice details that we encounter on dog's face, but we won't focus on a whole figure of the animal right away. 2. Second Class ( Cat - Portrait): We will focus only on the close up of a cat, so we can practice details that we encounter on its face, but we won't focus on a whole figure of the animal right away. In comparison to the dog, in this portrait we have paws included and we are introducing more texture. 3. Third Class ( Bunny - whole body ) Here we are introducing a whole body of an animal for the first time, some environment and nice hair texture. Animal shape is still easier than the animals in next classes - Horse and Chicken 4. Forth Class ( Piglet - whole body ) We will focus on a whole body of the animal, analyzing its anatomical elements, focusing on texture with a single color pencil to help us learn pressure control ( the most difficult part of color pencil use) but the overall shape of the animal is medium difficulty 5. Fifth Class ( Horse - whole body ) We will draw a whole horse, analyzing anatomical details, like front and back leg differences, facial details, and both shading and texturing hair 6. Sixth Class ( Chicken - full body) We will draw a chicken full body view, we will draw details on face ( which there are a lot of - crest included ) and feather and leg texture and color it as well! I specifically picked animals in a way that will help students encounter different textures and shapes so we can have fun and novelty with each class and most importantly learn and practice something new with each class! Engagement throughout course: 1. We will post our process on classroom page for feedback ( if we feel comfortable with sharing with the class ). 2. I will post a quiz with questions based around fun trivia about animals that I mentioned in class or tips and tricks that are drawing technique based - questions like: what 2 color pencils would you use to create your own orange color by mixing these two? After that is answered, next question would be how would you make it darker or lighter? This is a fun way to engage students and to encourage mindful drawing and thinking about art! 3. We will organize a color scavenger hunt! Students will be asked to go around their room and to find colors that they have encountered in class with me, while coloring the assigned animal! They will all post their results on classroom page and I will encourage conversation and talks about colors and all of the different color values we discover as we play! This is a fun interactive way to engage students and learn together! 4. I will also on weekly basis post a smaller assignment only focused on drawing technique, in form of a fun short exercise that you are encouraged to try out at home and also share your results and insights related to the assignments! And we will all post our exercises as well - per example, color mixing with color pencils - create your own color ( green, pink, orange, grey ext) I like to teach in a step-by-step manner and tell you about specific techniques you can use to make your drawing better! I also want you to have fun and enjoy the process and express yourself artistically! Have fun with me in a flexible schedule format and learn something new!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello there!
Let's learn how to draw, paint and imagine new worlds and creations in a relaxed and fun environment!
I am an artist and a designer with an MFA from Northwestern University.
During my studies, I had the opportunity to teach on an undergraduate level and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I work in the film and theatre industry as a set designer and I love to create new worlds inspired by stories!
For me drawing is a powerful tool of communication and I believe that learning how to express imagination through visual language can help develop new creative ideas and solutions for any type of work, not just design.
I am excited to meet you and see how your personality reflects in your creations!
I am giving drawing, painting, and design classes!
