Week 1Lesson 1Class 1We'll take a look at the concept of a thesis: what it is, why we need them, where and when we use them, and how we can write them. Then, we will examine some pitfalls of writing thesis statements and discover ways to make ours as strong as possible.
After having taught essays to more than 500 students on Outschool, I have realized that many of them fear the thesis statement! But the truth is, it's a fairly simple endeavor... if you have the right tools. Besides essays, I also teach grammar, literature, poetry, and vocabulary, and I've been teaching on Outschool for more than three years.
