Class Experience
This telling time class is for students who want to learn how to tell time using a clock. This class is mostly for beginners or students who want a refresher on how to tell the time by the hour and minute. This class has an interactive approach as well as visual aids to help in learning. Each video will range between 7-12 minutes long, depending on the activity. Week 1: We will learn the different parts of the clock, and how each part works together. We will talk about the hour hand and practice writing the time by the hour. There is a fun coloring activity that goes along with week one to help students. We will introduce a character helper in this lesson. We will also learn how to tell time in 5 minute increments. Learner's will have an optional worksheet to complete while watching the classroom video. Week 2: This week we will learn about telling time to the minute. We will discuss in more detail about how many minutes are in an hour and a day. There will also be a fun clock sort activity. Week 3 : Clock project. Students will make a timetable of their day. It may include what time they wake up in the morning, what time they eat breakfast, etc. Students are will post to the classroom or my in box with their project. Students may also upload a video of themselves telling about what they do at certain times in the day. Week 4: This week we will play Clock Bingo! Students are encouraged to print off their Bingo board, and pause the video recording to find their answers. This game may be advanced for some. *Google Slides will be used for this lesson. However, it is only used as a visual example of clocks. * My teaching style in this class will be is as if I'm speaking and asking questions directly to your child. I will pause occasionally after a question to give your child "thinking" time. I also encourage pausing the video to understand a concept. *Note* The class size minimum is one learner. *Note* Please practice counting by 5's. **There's homework in this class. All assignments are done in class, so that it leaves time for you to review anything you need to after class. All materials used for each week will be upload once per week. I hope to see you soon in class!
