Description
Class Experience
- Comprehension and Analysis: Students will be presented with a script and presentation of the NFL team and be able to express their analysis of the same (and similar) players. - Critical Thinking: Students will respond to comprehension questions relevant to prominent NFL team. - Social Skills: Students will be able to meet other students with a passion for football! In doing so, they will learn and practice conversational skills through the classroom chat.
I have played, coached, and now analyzed football for the past 20 years. As a coach I was able to coach every position and team at the High School Varsity level. I also had extensive practice with breaking down team and opponent scouting film. This led to my current position where I work for a football analytics company where I analyze and input data of different football teams in the NFL and NCAA.
(Optional) Each video will be paired with a script and set of questions to help with focus, note-taking, and critical thinking. The student does not have to, but can turn in their answers by messaging me directly in the Outschool teacher-learner chat. I am always happy to interact and respond to students' work and/or questions. With this being said, each presentation will always have a set of questions coupled with it.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
(Optional) Similar to the homework, this will be optional. Each presentation will also be paired with a "big picture" question that will encourage the student to activate their "critical thinking" cap. The learner will be asked to answer the question in 3-5 sentences explaining their answer.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be accessing Canva for the presentations, homework questions, and critical thinking assessment.
