Based on our popular live class for beginner guitarists, this Beginner Guitar Series moves through simple steps to help your learner become the best guitar player they can be! This is the perfect series for guitarists who have never held a guitar before and want simple instructions on what to practice to move forward on their guitar journey. Start at Part 1 and begin your journey through the levels. In Part 1 of the Beginner Guitar Series, we'll start from the VERY basics: WEEK 1: How to Choose a Guitar for Beginners Guitar Accessories for Beginners 3 Common Types of Guitars Parts of the Guitar How to Hold the Guitar Students will interact with their teachers and classmates by competing in a Kahoot! Quiz. Students will also be asked to share what type of guitar they have. WEEK 2: How to Hold the Guitar Pick How to Count the Strings How to Count the Frets Knowing your Finger Numbers Students will interact with their teachers and classmates by answering challenge questions and posting a video of themselves playing their guitar strings. WEEK 3: How to Play Notes on a Single String How to Play a Song on a Single String Listening: Low and High Sounds Theory: What is the Musical Alphabet? Students will interact with their teachers and classmates by posting a video or audio of themselves playing a single string song. WEEK 4: How to Tune Your Guitar Theory: What are Chords? How to Create the C and G7 Chords How to Strum Songs with the C and G7 Chords Students will interact with their teachers and classmates by posting a video or audio of themselves strumming a song using the C and G7 chords. -----
Learning Goals
By the end of Week 4, dedicated students will be able to hold and tune their guitar, play a song on a single string, and strum the C and G7 chords.

Students must have a guitar at home to participate and practice. I recommend that students also have guitar picks and a tuner to participate.
