Class experience
In this self paced class, students will learn the basics of how to play the piano through scales, rhythms, common songs, and popular songs. Week 1 - Students will learn the layout of the piano, how to sit at the piano, finger numbers, high and low sounds of the piano, and how to find middle C. Students will be asked to record themselves playing a "middle C jam". Week 2 - Students will learn the musical alphabet and how to name all of the keys of the piano. Today, we will learn how to...

At the end of the course, students should be able to play 2 common songs, name all of the notes on the keyboard, identify quarter notes, whole notes, and half notes, and play "Cups" by Anna Kendrick.

Homework Offered
Each student is required to practice daily in order to get the most out of this course. Please plan to spend 10 minutes a day outside of class practicing your instrument.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class

Video lessons are uploaded to private videos on Youtube. Students must be able to view Youtube videos in order to watch the video assignments. Parents may want to monitor students' use of Youtube for the class. Students must have access to Kahoot! to compete against classmates in the Kahoot!
